Why January is the Busiest Month of the Year for Cosmetic Treatments

Aria DermSpa is preparing for our busiest month of the year. And lo and behold, it’s the first week in January that we can find ourselves the most active. And as the first week of 2021 will once again have people flocking to the gym, our waiting room in Madison, Connecticut, will be packed as well, with patients making good on New Years’ resolutions. Cosmetic procedures, even common ones like fillers or BOTOX®, are highly sought-after this time of year, and we thought you may be wondering—why?
The Makeover Mentality
It may be a psychological thing to enter the new year with goals to include physical appearance. Some patients book their appointments for January months in advance.
There are also patients with a “bucket list” of treatments they would like to try for the new year. But practical reasons also play a role in the bump in appointments. December is a time when friends and family are visiting, or the kids are home from school. This month is not the ideal time to schedule appointments, especially if downtime is involved. That’s why we see an uptick in the big-ticket procedures that require lengthier recoveries.
Popular Procedures
Facials, Lasers, and Peels, oh my! For Connecticut residents, January weather is a motivation to get that skin treatment done. It is an ideal time for dermatologic procedures like chemical peels, Laser Treatments, and innovative Facials that require extended periods out of the sun. Our Connecticut winter wardrobes are perfect for keeping our skin covered if we have to get out of the house.
We find a popular treatment is our Clear and Brilliant laser resurfacing treatment to prevent the early signs of aging. It is an optimal solution for enlarged pores, wrinkles and fine lines, and sagging skin. It promotes skin firmness and elasticity as it improves skin texture and tone.
Avoid the Pressure
It’s the time of year many of us feel the pressure to look, act, and feel differently. The desire for a new you to bring in the new year can be intense. But it doesn’t mean you should rush to some treatment you hear about, or your friend just had. Then again, “new lips, new year,” has a certain ring to it, if it’s what you’re looking for.
Just like the other 11 months of the year, the most important opinion on what should be done and when is yours. A good dermatologist plus what you feel inside will guide you toward the right cosmetic decision that works for you. Time may be of the essence, but don’t let the new year’s pressure get to you.
